The short version

Using it without signing in

Everything you add is saved in your browser's local storage on that device. It isn't sent to us. Clearing your browser data deletes it.

What we store when you sign in

Signing in uses your Google account through Firebase, a Google service. We receive and keep:

If you were using Screen & Shelf before signing in, the items in your browser are copied into your account when you sign in.

Shared calendars

When you join or invite someone to a calendar, everyone in it can see its items and each member's name and profile picture. Anyone with a calendar's invite link can join it, so share links only with people you trust. The calendar's owner can make a new link at any time, which stops the old one working, and can remove members.

Visitor counts

We may count page visits with GoatCounter, which doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across sites. It records things like which page was opened, the referring site, browser type and screen size.

Services we use

Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Children

Screen & Shelf isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
